How to Enjoy a Sauna for First-Timers

by | Jan 13, 2022 | Massage Spa

Start using a sauna like a pro. If you’ve never tried this before, then here are a few tips. These should help you have fun when you head to one with friends or family.

Read the Instructions

It’s a given, but it wouldn’t hurt to emphasize how important it is to read and understand the instructions. While a sauna room in Los Angeles is different from one facility to another, there are specific health guidelines that you need to follow. Otherwise, you or someone in your group could come to harm.

Come on Time

Going to a spa facility is one way to relax and let go of whatever has been stressing you out. But if you’re late, you might arrive grumpy, irritated, and nowhere near a good mood. That won’t help you relax. Plan it, so you’ll come a bit early. That way, you’ll be ready for a soothing session once you step inside the facility.

Don’t Stay Too Long

If this is your first time to a sauna, then stay no longer than 10 to 15 minutes for your first try. Don’t worry, you can increase that time on your next visits. While the most optimum length of time is staying 30 to 40 minutes inside, it might be too much for you on your first few tries. Do it gradually until you get used to it. Listen to your body, too. If you feel something’s wrong, seek out help.

Drink Lots of Water

When you enter the sauna, you’ll lose about 0.5 liters of water because of your exposure to humidity and high temperature. Always drink after a session. A warm tea or just plain warm water helps improve your blood circulation.

Wear Comfortable Clothes

If you’re going for a session, pick comfortable clothes that you can step into later. When you’re already relaxed from the treatment, comfy clothes are the best Grand Spa.
